Chapecoense and Coritiba have expressed interest in signing 31-year-old Brazilian left-back Paulinho from Midtjylland, where he has played since July 2019. Botafogo is also pursuing the player, creating competition. Paulinho's contract with the Danish club is valid until June 2026, though he is currently negotiating an amicable termination. He was left out of a recent game against Silkeborg and has made only one Superliga appearance in the 2025/2026 season. Midtjylland wants 500,000 euros for an immediate release, an amount Botafogo is not currently willing to pay. Despite the competition, Botafogo is considered to be in the strongest position to sign the player.
