According to The Telegraph, Birmingham City are in talks with Sunderland to make the loan of Patrick Roberts, 28, a permanent transfer. The Telegraph reported that in an interview, Blues chairman Tom Wagner stated the club is working very hard on recruitment, while also acknowledging that January is a difficult time to sign players due to fewer available options. Sunderland have an option to extend Roberts' current contract until 2027.
