Patrick Mortensen is reportedly close to joining Brøndby IF on a contract running until the summer of 2028. According to Tipsbladet, the 36-year-old Danish striker was close to extending his contract at AGF when Brøndby intervened and attracted him with a two-year deal. Following this, the Danish champions, AGF, announced that their captain has chosen to leave. Mortensen stated that after good discussions with AGF and himself, and after consulting with his family, he has decided his final period as a player will be somewhere other than Aarhus. This move comes shortly after AGF lost another player, Felix Beijmo, to a direct competitor in FC København. Mortensen has previously played for Brøndby's first team, making four appearances. The uncapped Denmark international joined AGF in January 2019. According to Transfermarkt, he has a current market value of €200k.
