Icelandic club Vestri announced on social media that they have signed Senegal international Pape Abou Cissé. Cissé is a 30-year-old defender with 16 caps and one goal for his country and previously played for AS Saint-Étienne and Olympiacos. Africafoot had previously reported that he was moving to Croatia. He is returning to play after a period away from top-level competition since his departure from Qatar. A statement from Vestri said the transfer was finalized due to the involvement of Sergine Fall and the player's agent, Henri Camara. The length of the contract has not been specified. Transfermarkt estimates Cissé's market value to be €1.00m. He had also been linked with clubs including Real Oviedo, Aris, and Getafe.
