Panathinaikos submitted a proposal to Mallorca for Pablo Maffeo, a 28-year-old Spanish defender. The proposal involved a one-year loan with a mandatory purchase option. Although the financial offer from Panathinaikos was satisfactory to Mallorca, Maffeo turned it down because the salary proposed was half of his current earnings at Mallorca. Maffeo had communicated to Mallorca's sporting director, Pablo Ortels, his wish to leave the club, but he has yet to find a suitable offer. A potential transfer to Nottingham Forest, which Maffeo was open to, was unsuccessful, leaving him on the lookout for an acceptable opportunity. Maffeo's contract with Mallorca is due to expire in June 2027, and his market value is estimated by Transfermarkt at €5 million. Apart from Nottingham Forest, Fiorentina and Real Betis have also shown interest in the player.
