Olympiacos is considering 28-year-old Spanish-Argentinian Mallorca right-back Pablo Maffeo for the right side of their defense. Although the team has Rodinei in that position, coach Mendilibar often uses the Brazilian as an external midfielder, so acquiring Maffeo would provide more options for the Basque coach. Panathinaikos has also shown interest in the player in what is considered a difficult transfer case from the Spanish league. Maffeo joined Mallorca in July 2022, is under contract until June 2027, and has a current market value of €5.00m, according to Transfermarkt. In 2025, Mallorca reportedly declined an €8 million offer for the player during the January window and considered offers between €5 million and €6 million in June to be an undervaluation.
