Othmane Maamma Transfer from Watford to Strasbourg

According to L'Equipe, Strasbourg are seriously considering pursuing Othane Maamma during the January transfer window. BlueCo would allow Maamma to choose whether he wants to join Chelsea or Strasbourg.

Chelsea ownership group BlueCo have reportedly become interested in Watford's Othmane Maamma at the start of the January transfer window. According to L'Equipe journalist Flavien Trésarrieu, the owners of Strasbourg are also interested in Maamma. BlueCo have used their other club, Ligue 1 club Strasbourg, as a place for some young players to develop, and it is possible that this is the planned destination for the player.

Othmane Maamma, a 20-year-old Moroccan right winger who also has French nationality, is a player Strasbourg is looking to recruit. Maamma was named the best player of the last U20 World Cup and is also reportedly being followed by Liverpool, Manchester United, Newcastle, Chelsea, Brighton, Brentford, and Sunderland. According to journalist Flavien Trésarrieu, Bournemouth is also interested in Maamma for the winter transfer window because the club is looking for a right winger due to Antoine Semenyo's imminent departure. Maamma joined Watford last summer and has a contract until June 2029. The club's management is not opposed to his departure but would require a fee of more than 10 million euros. In the current Championship season, Maamma has made 10 appearances, scoring 3 goals and providing 1 assist. He has also earned 28 caps for the Morocco U20 team, scoring 5 goals. His current market value, according to Transfermarkt, is €1.30m, which is the same fee Watford reportedly paid to sign him in July 2025.
