Othmane Maamma Transfer from Watford to Chelsea

According to L'Equipe and RMC Sport, Chelsea are seriously considering a move for Othane Maamma during the January transfer window. BlueCo would lead this move and is keen to sign youngsters. RMC Sport states that Maamma's profile is highly appealing to Chelsea's American owners and that there is a belief that discussions could accelerate in the coming days. BlueCo would allow Maamma to choose whether he wants to join Chelsea or Strasbourg. Any deal would likely exceed €10m.

RC Strasbourg is pursuing Othmane Maamma, a Moroccan-French national, and is in competition with several English clubs for the player. Clubs such as Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, Newcastle, Brighton, Brentford, and Sunderland have been monitoring the 20-year-old attacking midfielder. They watched him during a recent Watford match in which he started, played for 70 minutes, and was involved in his team's second goal. It is reported that Watford is demanding a transfer fee of more than 10 million euros for Maamma, whom Strasbourg considers a suitable player for their recruitment strategy to strengthen their midfield. Maamma joined Watford from Montpellier in July 2025 for a fee of approximately €1.3 million and is under contract until June 2029. This season, in nine Championship appearances, he has scored two goals and provided one assist. The winger has 28 caps for Morocco's U20 team, for which he has scored five goals. His current valuation according to Transfermarkt is €1.3 million.
