Omari Kellyman, a 20-year-old English and Northern Irish midfielder, is expected to move from Chelsea permanently. It is understood that Chelsea is close to agreeing a significant deal with its sister club, Strasbourg. The move to the French top flight is a disappointment for Cardiff City, where the midfielder had a very impressive loan spell last season. Cardiff had believed they were in the primary position to re-sign him because Kellyman had privately indicated earlier in the summer that his preference was to return to south Wales if Chelsea approved another loan. However, his performances attracted wider interest, and Chelsea opted for a permanent sale instead. Transfermarkt estimates his current market value to be €1.70m. Other clubs, including Birmingham City, had also been linked with the player.
