Omar Marmoush Transfer from Manchester City to Aston Villa

According to TEAMtalk, Aston Villa is the most recent Premier League club to show interest in Omar Marmoush and is closely tracking his situation at Manchester City. Aston Villa want the squad depth to compete domestically and in Europe, and Marmoush's ability to play both centrally and in wide positions makes him a desirable player for the club. However, Manchester City is unwilling to consider any mid-season departure, viewing him as a long-term asset with an important role in the second half of the campaign, despite his limited minutes. A transfer in January is also complicated by Marmoush’s current involvement at the Africa Cup of Nations, as Manchester City is reluctant to disrupt its squad mid-season. There is also no indication that Marmoush is actively seeking a transfer, and sources described as being close to the player suggest he remains focused on proving himself at Manchester City.

Aston Villa are targeting Manchester City attacker Omar Marmoush as a potential January recruit. Transfer insider Dean Jones told TeamTalk that reports are emerging from Egypt that Aston Villa are attempting to sign Marmoush. Pep Guardiola’s side will want to recover as much of the €75m they paid for the player as they can. Marmoush has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €77m. The arrival of Mathys Detourbet at Manchester City could facilitate Marmoush's departure to Aston Villa.

According to British media, Aston Villa has shown serious interest in Manchester City's forward Omar Marmoush. Sources close to the club state that the possibility of a transfer being completed in January is being seriously considered, as Unai Emery wants to act in a timely manner and not wait for the summer transfer window. There is no official confirmation yet.

According to reports from Egypt cited by Dean Jones, Aston Villa are attempting to sign Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush. However, sources have indicated that Manchester City do not want the player to leave, with Fraser Fletcher also reporting that manager Pep Guardiola is expected to oppose any departure. Marmoush joined City from Eintracht Frankfurt in January 2025 for £59 million and has a contract that runs until 2029.
