Dara Jikiemi, a 16-year-old centre-back of Scottish and Nigerian nationality, has announced he is departing from Celtic after being with the club's youth system for over a decade. The Scotland under-16 captain is expected to join Liverpool on a five-year contract. Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano reported that the deal for Jikiemi to move to the Premier League club is finalized and that the paperwork was signed on a Sunday. It is also reported that Jikiemi declined offers from other clubs, including Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United, to complete the move. Celtic will get a reduced training compensation fee for the player as it is a cross-border transfer.
