Newcastle, Marseille, Feyenoord, Club Brugge, Monaco, Eintracht Frankfurt, and PSV Eindhoven were also named as being interested, and there had been previous reports of interest from Panathinaikos. The Partizan midfielder also attracted significant interest from Italy, with Bologna reportedly making an €8 million offer for him, while he was also linked with other Serie A clubs such as Atalanta and Torino.
