Gigi Becali stated that 23-year-old Romanian winger Octavian Popescu has signed a contract extension with FCSB until the summer of 2029. The contract was extended by one season before his loan to Levadiakos. Becali said that he extended Popescu's contract by one more year even though he loaned him to Levadiakos, and that Popescu is his bet. Popescu has been capped 7 times for Romania and has a market value estimated by Transfermarkt to be €600k. Volos NFC and CFR Cluj have also been linked with the player.
