During the winter transfer window, Cracovia made an official offer to FCSB for 23-year-old Romanian winger Octavian Popescu, submitting their proposal a few days after the player's loan negotiations with Saudi club Al-Okhdood had failed. The Polish club proposed a six-month loan with an option for a permanent transfer dependent on the player's performances. Popescu could have earned a salary of 25,000 euros per month at Cracovia. However, FCSB's owner, Gigi Becali, was not interested in discussing the matter and rejected the offer immediately upon receiving it, which blocked the player's potential move to Poland. Popescu, who joined FCSB in September 2020, has a contract until June 2026. In the 2025/2026 SuperLiga season, he has made 17 appearances, providing one assist. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €850k.
