Rayo Vallecano intends to make the loan of Nobel Mendy, a 21-year-old Senegalese Centre-Back from Real Betis, permanent by exercising their purchase option. The option is set at €2.4 million plus variables for 80% of the player's rights. The club has decided to proceed with the purchase regardless of whether a mandatory clause based on appearances is met, due to strong interest from other teams. Atalanta, Nottingham Forest, and Benfica are among the clubs closely monitoring Mendy, and it is reported that they are prepared to offer a much higher sum for the player. A subsequent transfer by Rayo could exceed €12 million, and Real Betis would receive 20% of any fee from that sale. The defender has one cap for Senegal and has a current market value of €6.00m, according to Transfermarkt. It was reported that Real Betis's asking price for the player was €5 million in mid-2025.
