Kocaelispor showed significant interest in acquiring 23-year-old Croatian midfielder Niko Janković, but financial constraints prevented them from proceeding with the transfer. Fenerbahçe expressed their intention to purchase Janković's contract for a transfer fee of 5.6 million euros, with plans to subsequently loan him to Kocaelispor in an effort to strengthen the partnership between the two clubs. Although an agreement was initially reached with Rijeka, Fenerbahçe decided to temporarily postpone the transfer following reactions from their fans. Bruno Petković, who joined Kocaelispor this summer as a free agent after departing from Dinamo, is currently part of the club. Janković's contract with Rijeka is valid until June 2026, and his market value has been estimated at €6.50 million by Transfermarkt. Additionally, other clubs such as Werder Bremen and Dynamo Kyiv have recently shown interest in the player.
