Rapid București coach Costel Gâlcă stated that Nicolae Stanciu could significantly help the team in the Superliga if a transfer were to happen in the winter. A potential move for the 32-year-old Romanian attacking midfielder is considered plausible. This is because the international is not having a successful season in Serie A with Genoa, where he has been affected by injuries, and because Dan Șucu finances both clubs. Gâlcă acknowledged that his current focus is on the next match against Csikszereda, although they have players they are targeting for the winter.
