Nicolae Stanciu Transfer from Damac to Genoa

Nicolae Stanciu, the captain of the Romanian national team, has joined Genoa on a free transfer. Last season, he played with Damac in Saudi Arabia, where he made 30 appearances, scored 5 goals, and provided 7 assists. The 32-year-old is set to play behind the strikers for Genoa. Throughout his career, he has played for clubs such as Steaua Bucharest, Anderlecht, and Slavia Prague. Genoa CFC announced that Stanciu would become a new player for the club starting from July 1st. He has earned 81 caps and scored 15 goals for the Romanian national team and has secured 14 titles in Romania, Belgium, the Czech Republic, and China. In 2022, he was recognized as the Romanian footballer of the year.

Nicolae Stanciu has agreed to a contract with Genoa, a club owned by Dan Șucu, which will be valid until 2027. This agreement will commence once his current contract with Damac expires. Gigi Becali, the owner of FCSB, expressed his opinion that Stanciu will successfully adapt to Serie A and mentioned that Stanciu is moving for a lucrative financial offer. Becali also noted that he had previously wanted Stanciu to return to FCSB.
