According to Tuttosport, Palermo have intensified their efforts to sign Nicholas Pierini, an Italian winger who is set to leave Sassuolo, as part of their search for a replacement for Matteo Brunori following his move to Sampdoria. The Sicilian club appears to have prioritized the 1998-born player over Matteo Tramoni of Pisa, as the situation regarding Pierini is considered less complicated. However, this move reportedly does not rule out a transfer for Dennis Johnsen of Cremonese, who is also said to be a target for Venezia at the request of manager Giovanni Stroppa. Pierini, aged 27, joined Sassuolo in August 2024 and holds a contract until June 2027. In the 2025/2026 Serie A season, he has made 8 appearances without scoring a goal or providing an assist. His current market value is €2.60m.
