Cruzeiro has confirmed a pre-contract agreement with Neíser Villareal, a 20-year-old forward from Millonarios. The player is scheduled to join the club in December 2025 on a five-season deal. His eligibility to sign a pre-agreement stemmed from his current contract with Millonarios, which is set to expire in November. Villareal, who was the top goalscorer for Colombia at the South American U-20 Championship with eight goals, had also drawn interest from European clubs, including Atlético Madrid, Liverpool, and Newcastle United. Earlier in the season, Vasco had reached an agreement with Millonarios for the player, as the club was looking to sell to avoid a free transfer. Vasco's bid consisted of a US$ 2.8 million fee for a five-year contract, with an additional US$ 700,000 in performance-related variables. The player's market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €2.80 million.
