Nektarios Triantis, a 23-year-old Greek-Australian Minnesota United central midfielder, is the subject of recent interest from both Olympiacos and AEK Athens. Panathinaikos also previously had an interest in the player; the reason for this was reportedly Rafa Benítez's interest, but the club has since withdrawn from the deal. There is also interest from teams in the Championship who want to bring him back to that league. The initial asking price for Triantis is set at over 4 million euros. He has been capped three times for Greece and joined the MLS club from Sunderland last August for a fee of 2.5 million euros. His current contract runs until 2029.
