Marseille reached an agreement several times this winter for Neal Maupay, a 29-year-old French-Argentine centre-forward who is considered unwanted at the club, including with Italian sides Pisa and Cremonese. The attacker rejected these opportunities and had also turned down approaches from clubs in Spain, Turkey, and Belgium the previous summer. Maupay has made one league appearance this season and is under contract until June 2028. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €4.00m. He has recently been linked with a move to Sevilla. Marseille's mandatory purchase option for the player from Everton was €4 million in July 2025, and the club had set an asking price of €5 million for him in the summer of 2025.
