Moctar Diop, a 21-year-old Senegalese striker, has signed a contract with AA Gent until 2029. He comes from Lillestrøm, with whom he won the Norwegian second division title last season. According to Kjeld Fort, the operational director, Diop is a young target striker who combines speed with an impressive physical presence. Fort also stated that Gent had been following him for a long time, that the competition for Diop was strong, and that they are proud he chose AA Gent.

Gent is close to signing Moctar Diop from Lillestrøm. The Norwegian club has confirmed that the 21-year-old Senegalese striker has received permission to travel to another club. The transfer is conditional on a medical examination. Gent is expected to pay a fee of approximately 1 million euros for the player, who had previously joined Lillestrøm from Aalesund for 650,000 euros. During his last year and a half at Lillestrøm, Diop scored ten goals and provided five assists in 39 matches. His contract with Lillestrøm was set to expire on 31/12/2028, and his market value is €750k, according to Transfermarkt.
