Mitchel Bakker, a 26-year-old Dutch defender, is training with NEC during their training camp in Spain. Since the start of the month, Bakker has been without a club and is a free agent, following the termination of his contract with Atalanta Bergamo. Injury issues were a contributing factor to the left-back making only one appearance for Atalanta last season. NEC will evaluate during the camp whether Bakker is a candidate for a contract. A former Netherlands U21 international, Bakker has a current Transfermarkt market value of €2.50m and has been linked with clubs including Celtic and Olympique Marseille.
