Sparta Rotterdam is close to signing 22-year-old Dutch striker Milan Zonneveld from Telstar before the transfer deadline. Technical director Gerard Nijkamp confirmed to ESPN that the club is close to acquiring the player. Nijkamp explained that Zonneveld is an interesting prospect as another striker is expected to leave the club temporarily, and he added that the final details still need to be completed. The deal is reportedly a swap that includes Nökkvi Thorisson and another player. Nijkamp declined to comment on these specifics. Nijkamp acknowledged Zonneveld's scoring record and expressed confidence in the club's ability to help him improve, noting that the striker, who played for amateur club Quick Boys last season, is strong in other aspects of his game.
