At a Benfica general assembly, former presidential candidate João Diogo Manteigas asked President Rui Costa if the club had an agreement with Jose Maria Gimenez or Milan Škriniar. In response, Rui Costa stated that it was not Gimenez but did not deny the name Škriniar. The 31-year-old Slovakian defender's contract with Fenerbahçe is set to run until 2029.
