DC United made a concrete offer of approximately €600,000 to FCSB for Romanian midfielder Mihai Lixandru. It is reported that the 25-year-old player rejected the move because he does not desire a transfer to MLS and prefers to continue his career in Europe. Consequently, several European clubs, including Anderlecht, Rapid Vienna, Lucerne, and Thun, are said to be monitoring him. The Dutch publication CircusDaily claimed that Anderlecht is following Lixandru's situation closely, especially after his refusal of the offer from North America. Lixandru's contract with FCSB is set to expire in June 2029. In the 2025/2026 domestic league season, he made 24 appearances in the SuperLiga, scoring 4 goals and providing 2 assists, and made an additional 6 appearances in the relegation group.
