According to Malky Mackay, Hibernian received inquiries about Miguel Chaiwa during the transfer window.

A bid of approximately £5m for Miguel Chaiwa would likely result in him leaving Hibs this summer. It is described that £5m is not a large amount for many English clubs and that Miguel Chaiwa is considered well-equipped for the British game. Hibs prefer to sell their top players to England to avoid strengthening Scottish rivals. If another bid of that size is made for Chaiwa, he will leave. A £5m fee for the player could also fund the club's recruitment drive.

The Daily Record reports that Hibernian could profit from Miguel Chaiwa and could sell him this summer, seeking at least £3m. There is reported interest in Chaiwa.

Interest in 21-year-old Zambian defensive midfielder Miguel Chaiwa was mentioned, but head coach David Gray said it was the first he had heard of it. His absence from the match was attributed to return schedules, not a transfer. Chaiwa, who has 16 international caps for Zambia, has made 12 appearances and scored one goal in the Scottish Premiership this season. He joined Hibernian from Young Boys in August 2025 for a reported €800,000 and his current contract runs until May 2028. Fiorentina and Celtic have been linked with the player, whose market value is estimated by Transfermarkt at €1.20m.
