Michel Ange Balikwisha leaving Celtic?

Michel-Ange Balikwisha, who cost Celtic £5.5m from Royal Antwerp, was not included in the squad for the Scottish Cup win against Dundee. This happened days after he was removed from the Europa League squad for new signings. It is stated that Balikwisha no longer has a future at Celtic, and a sale requires an interested party to make a bid. Celtic may not be able to recover the fee paid for the player in 2025.

Michel-Ange Balikwisha has not featured regularly for months and has dropped out of matchday squads completely. Martin O’Neill said he can understand the frustrations of one or two players who have not played much football. O'Neill added that if they can bring in some players, he would not object to some players who haven't played and desperately want to play going on loan.

It does not appear that Michel-Ange Balikwisha is set for a long stay. He did not play under O’Neill and was not on the bench again recently, despite having returned from the Africa Cup of Nations.

Michel-Ange Balikwisha, a 24-year-old winger with dual Belgian and DR Congo nationality, has played 237 league minutes and provided one assist since joining Celtic from Antwerp in August 2025. According to Transfermarkt, the DR Congo international has a current market value of €5.00m.
