Michael Parker leaving West Brom U21?
Michael Parker, a 21-year-old English centre-back, is on trial with Örgryte IS. Parker said he would be interested in a transfer given what he has experienced in Gothenburg. Parker stated that he is open to coming there, has enjoyed being there for the two weeks, and that it is now up to God and what God wants will happen. Örgryte IS sporting director Pontus Farnerud explained that they are speaking to Parker’s agent and that the player is happy with the situation. Farnerud said a decision can only be made once they know the transfer costs and have held negotiations with West Brom. Farnerud also said that he could not say anything definite at that moment, but they will talk to the agent shortly and then see what happens. He explained that while the player's situation is the most interesting thing for them, it is also about the costs and what that would entail, and they must prioritise in relation to other positions and players they are looking at. Farnerud added that they have had a good dialogue with the agent, that the player has a good feeling for the club, and that you never know how things will turn out. Parker's contract with West Bromwich Albion U21 runs until June 2027; this season, he has made 10 appearances and scored one goal in the National League North.
