Lens is reportedly very interested in Melayro Bogarde, a 24-year-old Dutch-Surinamese midfielder from LASK Linz, as a potential successor for Mamadou Sangaré. Sangaré is close to a move to Brentford. The club's sporting director is said to have anticipated Sangaré's departure and targeted Bogarde, who previously played for Hoffenheim. Bogarde, who is primarily a defensive midfielder, is under contract in Austria until 2028 and has been capped once by the Suriname national team. While Transfermarkt values him at 4 million euros, a deal could reportedly cost around 5 million euros. This amount is considered to be within Lens's budget.
