Genoa has contacted Mehdi Taremi as part of their search for a new striker requested by manager De Rossi. Taremi is a 34-year-old Iranian centre-forward who formerly played for Inter and is now at Olympiacos. The club is assessing multiple forwards. While Taremi is not at the top of their list, with Evan Ferguson of Brighton considered the primary target, he is under strong consideration. Taremi, who joined the Greek club in August 2025, has a contract that runs until June 2027 and has scored 58 goals in 107 appearances for Iran. Transfermarkt estimates his current market value to be €2.00m, and he has also been linked with LOSC Lille and Vasco da Gama.
