Ten European clubs are monitoring 20-year-old South African central defender Mbekezeli Mbokazi. FC Utrecht, Club Brugge, Anderlecht, Ajax, Sassuolo, Rennes, Eintracht Frankfurt, Bournemouth, Nottingham Forest, and Real Betis are all reportedly interested in the Chicago Fire player. Mbokazi joined the MLS side in December 2025 from Orlando Pirates for a fee of around 3 million dollars. His current contract runs until 2029 with an option for an additional season. Transfermarkt estimates his market value at 3.5 million euros, and this figure is expected to increase following his performances at the World Cup. The defender has 14 caps and one goal for South Africa and made 12 appearances in Major League Soccer and 11 in the Betway Premiership during the 2025/2026 season.
