Mbekezeli Mbokazi, a 20-year-old South African central defender, has attracted interest from ten European clubs, including Ajax. The Chicago Fire player has also reportedly attracted interest from Club Brugge, Anderlecht, Utrecht, Sassuolo, Rennes, Eintracht Frankfurt, Bournemouth, Nottingham Forest, and Real Betis. Mbokazi joined the MLS club from Orlando Pirates in December 2025 for a fee of around $3 million and was signed to a contract until 2029, which includes an option for an extra season. He was also registered as a U22 Initiative player. Mbokazi has 14 caps and one goal for South Africa.
