Maxwell Woledzi Transfer from Fredrikstad to Sturm Graz

Laola1.at reports on the unexpected turn of events in the transfer of Maxwell Woledzi to SK Sturm Graz. Maxwell Woledzi, a 24-year-old Ghanaian playing for Fredrikstad, was set to join SK Sturm Graz. The clubs had agreed on a transfer fee of 20 million Norwegian Kroner (approximately 1.7 million Euro), which was accepted by Fredrikstad. However, SK Sturm Graz unexpectedly pulled out of the deal.

Maxwell Woledzi, a defender from Ghana, is expected to transfer to Sturm Graz from Fredrikstad FK. He has a history of playing for FC Nordsjaelland in Denmark and the second team of Vitoria Guimaraes. Woledzi has been part of Fredrikstad since the summer of 2023 and earned a spot in the Team of the Season in the Norwegian league last year. He showcased impressive performance in the UEFA Conference League-Qualifikation against Crystal Palace. His contract with Fredrikstad extends until the end of 2026. It is reported by the 'Kurier' that the transfer fee is considerably in the seven-figure range. This transfer aligns with Sturm Graz's coach, Jürgen Säumel, who emphasized the necessity for new recruits following a win in the Grazer Derby, as he noted the urgent need to address the squad's depth. Local sources such as 'Fredriksstad Blad' and the 'Kurier' have also confirmed the transfer, reflecting the club's active efforts to bolster their defensive lineup.
