Matúš Kmet Transfer from Minnesota United to Górnik Zabrze
In an interview with Roosevelta81.pl, Matúš Kmeť stated that there is an option for Górnik Zabrze to make his loan permanent and the club will decide on the matter. Kmeť, whose loan ends on December 31, said that when the move was agreed, the terms of a potential contract were already settled. He added that it is now up to the club to decide whether to buy him. Kmeť also said he wants to stay, as he feels good at the club with the players and staff.
Matúš Kmeť, who previously played for Minnesota United's reserves and faced challenges with his visa, has joined Górnik Zabrze on loan until the end of December this year. The agreement includes an option to buy.
Matúš Kmeť is set to join Górnik Zabrze. The Slovak player has been training and competing for a spot in the reserves of Minnesota United but has not debuted in MLS. He joined Minnesota United in August from AS Trenčín, but due to visa issues, he only started playing in mid-September. He will undergo medical tests on Wednesday, and upon completion, he will be formally loaned for a six-month period with an option to buy.
Górnik Zabrze has shown interest in acquiring Matus Kmet, according to a report by Piotr Koźmiński. Kmet, who is currently with Minnesota United, has not managed to make a significant impact in the United States since his transfer from Trencin in August 2024. There are rumors suggesting he might return to Europe. Kmet, a right defender, has only participated in MLS Next Pro matches, making three appearances in total. Although there are no advanced negotiations at present, the transfer remains a possibility as Górnik Zabrze looks to strengthen their squad following the departure of one of their key players, Damian Rasak.
