Genoa are reportedly competing with fellow Serie A clubs Torino and Verona for the signing of 22-year-old Italian midfielder Matteo Prati. According to La Nuova Sardegna, Cagliari originally paid five million plus bonuses for the player. Prati joined Cagliari in August 2023 and his contract with the club runs until June 2028. He has earned 15 caps for the Italy U21 team. In Serie A this season, he has made 19 appearances and scored one goal. In June 2024, reports indicated Cagliari had set an asking price of €15 million for Prati. Transfermarkt estimates the player's current market value to be €6.00m.
