According to Tuttomercato, Ascoli is set to sign Italian-Brazilian striker Matteo Brunori, 31, on loan from Palermo, a club he joined in July 2022. The deal is nearing completion after progressing quickly in its final stages. To secure the striker for the season, Ascoli overcame competition from Cesena and Modena, as well as interest from clubs in the MLS. Brunori's contract with Palermo runs until June 30, 2027, and his current market value on Transfermarkt is €1.80m. In August 2026, reports linked with interest from multiple Serie B clubs cited a valuation for the player between €1.5 million and €2 million.
