Internacional and Cruzeiro have reached an agreement for a loan deal for Matheus Cunha, a 25-year-old Brazilian goalkeeper, which will run until mid-2027. The player is expected to arrive in Porto Alegre in the coming days to complete his medical examinations and sign the contract. The purpose of the move is to provide more options for manager Pezzolano and create competition for Sergio Rochet, who is currently dealing with physical issues. Before securing Cunha, Internacional had pursued José Contreras; according to reports from ge, their offer was rejected by his club, Barcelona de Guayaquil. Cunha had joined Cruzeiro at the start of the season but lost his starting role after a period of nine games. In August 2023, while he was at Flamengo, the club turned down an offer from Nottingham Forest that was reportedly valued between €8 million and €10 million.
