Mateusz Wieteska has expressed his aspiration to return to Legia Warszawa at some point in the future, reminiscing about the positive experiences he had during his tenure at the club. However, he noted that there has been no contact from Legia regarding a potential return. His contract with Cagliari remains valid until the end of June 2027. Wieteska, who departed from Legia in 2022 as the team captain to join Clermont Foot 63, enjoyed a fruitful season with the French club, which concluded the season in eighth place in Ligue 1. This achievement paved the way for his transition to Serie A with Cagliari, allowing him to realize his ambition of playing in Italy's top tier. Although he initially played regularly, he eventually found himself out of the starting lineup. He spent the last spring season on loan at PAOK, but since the Greek club chose not to exercise the option to purchase him, he returned to Cagliari. At present, it remains uncertain whether Wieteska will be included in Cagliari's future plans.
