Mateusz Wieteska has officially departed from Cagliari to join Kocaelispor. The Turkish club revealed through their official channels that they have acquired the 28-year-old Polish centre-back on loan, with an option to buy. Wieteska, who had joined Cagliari in 2023 from Clermont for around 5 million euros, appeared in five Serie A matches for the Italian side before being loaned to PAOK Salonicco in Greece during the winter transfer window. While at PAOK, he participated in ten games across the Greek Super League and its playoffs. He is now starting a new phase of his career with Kocaelispor. The defender's contract with his parent club, Cagliari, remains valid until June 2027, and Transfermarkt estimates his market value to be €2.0 million. Legia Warszawa was also rumored to have shown interest in the player prior to his move to Turkey.
