Bogdan Lobonț stated that he would take Matei Popa from FCSB and also said that he would take "those three" immediately. He added that he does not even need a huge budget, so he would not create a large deficit in the club's budget as a sporting director. Popa is a 19-year-old Romanian goalkeeper who joined FCSB in January 2026 and is under contract until June 2029. Transfermarkt estimates his current market value at €300k.
