Istra 1961 was mentioned as one of several potential destinations for Hajduk's 19-year-old Croatian center-back Marino Skelin, but a move did not happen. A transfer to Serie B was also considered but did not occur. About a month prior, Rudeš was an option, which the player reportedly did not favor. More recently, a loan to Slaven Belupo seemed likely to happen before a move to Radomlje was reported to be near completion; however, Dalmatinski portal learned that the Radomlje transfer would not be happening. Hajduk's coach, Gonzalo Garcia, had previously explained that he believes Skelin needs a change of environment to gain routine and continuity. Skelin's contract with Hajduk is valid until June 30, 2028, and he has a current Transfermarkt market value of €200k.
