Gazzetta.gr reports that Manolis Siopis is departing from Panathinaikos to return to Turkey. The 32-year-old Greek defensive midfielder previously played for Alanyaspor and Trabzonspor in Turkey. Although there were discussions with Aris, who were considered the most likely club to sign him, the international midfielder is moving to the Turkish league. Siopis will be released as a free agent, which will save Panathinaikos a significant amount from his contract that was due to run until the summer of 2027. Announcements from both Panathinaikos and his new team are expected in the coming hours. Siopis has 42 caps and 1 goal for Greece and a current market value of €1.20m, according to Transfermarkt.
