Maksim Borisko is linked with Panathinaikos, a club that has made acquiring a goalkeeper an immediate transfer priority. Manager Jakob Neestrup initially wanted to bring in Dominik Kotarski, the current Copenhagen and former PAOK goalkeeper, with whom he had previously worked in Denmark. After the Panathinaikos goalkeeping coach showed Neestrup videos of Borisko, they decided he was an ideal and more financially accessible option. Trabzonspor is also interested in the 26-year-old Russian, but it is reported that Borisko prefers to continue his career in Greece. Borisko plays for Baltika Kaliningrad, which he joined in July 2019, and his contract is valid until June 2028. His current market value, according to Transfermarkt, is €2.00m.
