Hibs, managed by David Gray, wanted to bring him in on loan to provide competition for their forwards. Despite Hibs' best efforts, the transfer did not happen. Dykes confirmed there was discussion about him going on loan, but he remains a Birmingham player and is focused on the current season.
Hibs are interested in bringing 29-year-old striker Lyndon Dykes back to Scotland on a loan deal before the deadline. Dykes is looking for regular first-team football to stay in contention for Scotland's World Cup qualifiers. Hibs' technical performance director David Marshall, who is close to Dykes, is a driving force in the deal. Birmingham City cannot guarantee Dykes the playing time he wants and are willing to look at options. The striker's contract at Birmingham runs until 2027, and his market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €1.20m.
