Luka Zahovič Transfer from Górnik Zabrze to CFR Cluj
Luka Zahovic, a 30-year-old Slovenian and Portuguese forward, has become CFR Cluj's seventh signing of the current transfer window. The player, who can operate as a number 9 or behind the main striker, last played for Gornik Zabrze in Poland. The club's announcement of the transfer included a welcome for the new forward and confirmation that he will wear the white and burgundy shirt. Zahovic was previously a target for FCSB in the summer of 2018, when he was playing for Maribor. At that time, Gigi Becali expressed interest in a loan deal with a two-million-euro option to buy, but the transfer was not completed because Maribor was not agreeable to a loan. The Slovenian international has 15 caps for his country and scored 1 goal in 6 Ekstraklasa appearances this season. His current market value is €500k, according to Transfermarkt. Before the transfer, he was linked with several clubs, including Maribor and Śląsk Wrocław. It was reported that in September 2025, Gornik Zabrze rejected an offer of approximately €60,000 from Wieczysta Kraków. Their asking price at the time was cited as €100,000.
