Luka Jović Transfer from Milan to Cruz Azul
CalcioMercato reports on the potential transfer of Luka Jovic to Cruz Azul or Botafogo. Luka Jovic has two important offers on the table, one from Cruz Azul and another from the Copa Libertadores champions, Botafogo. He is open to both options, but the Mexican club Cruz Azul is currently leading the race.
According to Récord, Cruz Azul is showing interest in acquiring Serbian striker Luka Jović from AC Milan. The Mexican club has begun discussions with AC Milan to consider bringing in the Serbian striker. Cruz Azul is reportedly looking at a loan deal with an option to buy as the preferred method to enhance their attacking lineup for the upcoming tournament. Jović, aged 27, is currently contracted with AC Milan until June 30, 2025. However, the contract includes an automatic extension clause that could allow Milan to extend it for an additional season, contingent upon performance and participation metrics. The proposed loan with an option to buy would enable Cruz Azul to integrate the striker into their squad without immediately incurring the full transfer cost, giving the club an opportunity to assess his suitability in Liga MX before making a permanent commitment. Cruz Azul's interest highlights their strategy to strengthen the team with a forward possessing international experience, and Jović's history, having played for Real Madrid and in the Bundesliga, aligns with their search criteria.
Cruz Azul, a Mexican club, has shown interest in Luka Jović. According to Sky Sport, there have been numerous contacts between the parties, starting last month with a meeting in Milan between the club's emissaries and the Serbian player's entourage. The final decision, however, will come from AC Milan, who have an option to extend Jović's contract, which expires on June 30. Despite this, the player's future seems to be away from Milan.
Luka Jovic's time at Milan has come to an end as the club decided not to exercise the option to renew his contract. Jovic, who joined Milan hoping to regain his top form, failed to consistently impress. Now, he is set to leave Milan on a free transfer. According to Sky Sport, Jovic has been in advanced talks with Cruz Azul for several weeks. Transfermarkt currently estimates his market value at 2.50 million euros.
