The Romans are aware they will need to pay a significant fee, as his club Saint-Etienne reportedly asked for 40 million euros in the summer and rejected a 26 million euro bid from Paris FC. The player himself is keen on a transfer in January to a better league, having told RTBF that a big move could help his chances of being selected for the World Cup. During the summer, Paris FC, Stade Rennes, and Al-Hilal also failed to reach an agreement with Saint-Etienne for the striker. Stassin's contract with the French club runs until June 30, 2028, and his market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €18 million.
