Beşiktaş is working on a transfer for Lucas Stassin, a 21-year-old Belgian centre-forward whose current club, Saint-Etienne, did not secure promotion from the second tier. Önder Özen, the sporting director for the Istanbul club, reportedly initiated action after a conversation with Hasan Cetinkaya. Cetinkaya is the Turkish vice-chairman of Westerlo and is said to have advised against the transfer. The proposed deal is reportedly a loan with an option to buy, which would include a future resale percentage for Saint-Etienne. It is considered uncertain if the French club would accept such an arrangement, because they have previously rejected offers of more than 30 million euros for the player in past transfer windows. Stassin has one cap for Belgium and has a contract with the French club until 2028. His market value is €15.00m, according to Transfermarkt.
